Here is our story.
I had my first pretnatal visit June 25. Jon came along in case we able to hear the heartbeat, I wanted him to experience it, if we didn't hear it, I wanted him there for support.
Luckily, the Dr was able to find the heartbeat right away! Beating fast and strong at 180 beats per minute. However, the Dr was concerned that the heartrate sounded a little fast for how far along I thought I was. He ordered an ultrasound to make sure everything was okay with our little monkey.
We weren't able to schedule it until the next afternoon. So for the next 24 hours, fears and worries clouded my mind of what could or might be wrong with our baby. Jon did his best to reassure me.
The tech, Melissa, was very friendly. Tried to make me feel relaxed and at ease, but I wasn't going to feel better until I saw our monkey and confirmed that it was healthy and growing strong.
Within seconds of the monitor being turned on, we saw it. Even though my brain at trouble processing it, I knew
it was TWINS!!!
Of course, what followed that revealation was a bunch of incoherent nonsense. I sometimes wish we had recorded that first visit just so we would have those first moments of discovery (and our subsequent dumbfoundedness) preserved for posterity.
So instead of finding one baby, behind on dates, we found two babies who were right on schedule!
Our sweet little monkey's! Affectionately known as Baby A and Baby B
at 11 weeks and 5 days
